CLASSIC DELI TURKEY SANDWICH (THREE WAYS)
Because the Deli Turkey Sandwich is such a classic and there really isn’t a wrong way to make it, we thought we would give you three exceptional variations on the Deli Turkey Sandwich for your recipe inspiration!
OVENGOLD TURKEY & HAM SANDWICH (Boar’s Head Recipe)
INGREDIENTS
2 slices Rustic bread
2 tbsp Kosher Dill Pickle Chips
2 slices Ovengold Roasted Turkey Breast
2 slices Deli Sliced Ham
4 slices Granny Smith apple (sliced thin)
2 slices Vermont Cheddar Cheese
2 leaves Green leaf lettuce
DIRECTIONS
Place your bread slices on a clean work surface.
Spread Boar's Head Real Mayonnaise on both slices of bread.
Layer remaining ingredients in the following order: Ovengold Turkey, Branded Deluxe Ham, Granny Smith apples, Vermont cheddar and lettuce.
Crown with the remaining half of bread. Serve and enjoy.
CLASSIC TURKEY SANDWICH (ServeTurkey.org)
INGREDIENTS
4 sandwich buns, sliced in half
1 small head of Bibb lettuce
1/4 c red onion, sliced
8 oz deli-sliced honey roasted turkey
1 large tomato, sliced
Half of an avocado, sliced thin
4 slices of cheddar cheese
4 tbsp mayonnaise
DIRECTIONS
On a cutting board or clean kitchen counter, lay the sliced buns in a row, placing the tops cut side up in front of the bottom halves.
Layer the bottom halves of the buns with lettuce, followed with slices of tomato and turkey.
On each sandwich, spread 1 tbsp of mayo on top of the turkey.
Follow with the slices of onion, a slice of cheddar cheese and finish with the top bun.
SLICED TURKEY BREAST WRAPS (Perdue Farms - An on-the-go twist to the Turkey Sandwich)
INGREDIENTS
1 pkg. PERDUE Carved Turkey Breast, Oven Roasted (8 oz.)
4 medium (8 inch) flour tortillas (or wheat tortillas), warmed
2 cups mixed baby salad greens
1 medium tomato, cut into thin wedges
1/2 cup coarsely shredded carrot
1/2 cup (4 ounces) reduced-fat shredded Cheddar or Mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup low-fat Italian salad dressing
DIRECTIONS
To make each sandwich, arrange 1/2 cup salad greens down the center of a tortilla. Top with some of the turkey, tomato wedges, 2 tablespoons shredded carrot, and 2 tablespoons shredded cheese. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons salad dressing.
Roll the tortilla to enclose the filling. Cut in half to serve.
TIP: To warm the tortillas, stack them between 2 paper towels. Microwave on high for 30 seconds or until moist and warm.
